ALLOW EXTRA TIME TO GET TO THE EVENT. THERE IS A ONE LANE BRIDGE ON THE WAY IN/OUT OF COOPERS LAKE.
General directions: Take I-79 North to exit 99 - Rt. 422W New Castle. At the stop sign, make a left onto Rt. 422. After .7 mile, make a right onto Currie Rd. Coopers Lake is about 1 mile straight back Currie.
We are concerned about traffic backing up on the above route. Please consider using this route:
Alternate route to Coopers Lake:
Travel I-79 north. Exit at Portersville Exit 96. Turn left at the end of the ramp. Travel about ½ mile to rt 19. Go right (north) on rt 19. Travel about ½ mile and make a right “Y” turn on West Park Rd. Travel about 5 miles and you will cross over 79. You will see a sign on the right that says Zion Baptist Church with an arrow pointing to the left. Make a left on Zion Church Rd. At the end of Zion Church Rd make a left onto Currie Rd. You will see the course on your right after about ½ mile.
Leaving Coopers Lake:
The Pennsylvania State Police have asked that we direct our main flow of traffic leaving the site AFTER the races to turn right at the intersection of Currie Road and Rt. 422; you can then turn around at the marked U-Turn near Rt. 19 to return to I-79. This procedure is more expedient and also safer than crossing Rt. 422 traffic by turning left at that point.
Alternate route back to I-79:
Follow Currie Rd about ½ mile. Turn right onto Zion Church Rd. At the end of Zion Church Rd, turn right onto West Park Rd travel about 5 miles. At the end of West Park Rd, turn left onto Rt 19 South. Go about ½ and make a left turn (you will see the sign for the junction of I-79), you will see the ramp ½ mile later.
